About

Red Rock Canyon National Park

I am an average, middle-aged man in the United States. I have an average, or possibly below average income. I work full-time averaging about 50-55 hours per week and barely getting by. My wife works part-time as a Realtor. Together we have 4 children from a young child to almost adult teenagers. I enjoy coin collecting, watching movies, and spending time with my family especially when vacationing to create new memories for our children. My wife also enjoys knitting and crocheting.

We uprooted our family in 2015 to move across the country to help care for my sweet Mother who is advancing with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). We had some debt before the move but during that process and restarting my wife’s career, combined with medical and dental bills pushed us to near bankruptcy. We reached over $50,000 in a combination of credit card & medical debts. And none of it was from outlandish spending, we drive old, paid-off cars and buy a lot of second hand clothes. We don’t spend on things we don’t need. The debts just slowly build up over time from living.

This purpose of this blog is to share our experience as I’m certain that many others are in a similar situation and need some help to better their lives. I will document our debt payoff and wealth increase journey. You will find things here from different investment vehicles to reach early retirement and smart ways to save money. We also want to reach out to the younger generations to help them avoid the pitfalls of bad debt and bad decisions that lead to overwhelming debt and share wealth building ideas that can bring about great change for future generations.
