Credit Cards/Travel Rewards

Here is a list of some of the best and most recommended travel cards with all current offerings: Get your Travel Rewards HERE! We recommend starting with the Chase rewards cards because they are the most versatile, their points can be transferred to many other partner services. And they have a limit on the number of cards you can open, so if you open some other ones first, you may not get approved for theirs. I started with them for both personal and business cards and then moved to others like hotel cards.

How would you like to travel the world for FREE! This topic will be discussed in multiple blog posts and will also contain a brief overview with links to those specific blogs as they are published so you can learn about it right here and how to make it work. Anybody can hand you a card, but you need to know how to use it in the most efficient way.

A big part of Financial Independence is finding ways to travel either for free or very low cost. Never pay full-price travel again! I have personally used travel rewards and appreciate the benefit they bring. You must be responsible to not put yourself into debt just to get the rewards. There is a right way to do it. Please read my blog posts about using travel rewards. I personally was focused in 2019 on going through the Chase personal and business cards between myself and my wife to build up enough points to pay for a family trip to South America. We did it, we were able to cover most of the cost for a family of 6 but our trip planned for June 2020 was cancelled due to Covid-19.

CASH BACK

Maybe Travel isn’t your thing, especially in 2020 with the Corona Virus. There are many options people use cards for. Cash back, 0% interest, Hotel points for free hotel stays, gas savings, balance transfers to get away from high interest, the list goes on. This can be especially helpful if you have a large amount of debt and you want to pay it down faster. I myself have done many balance transfers over the years to keep all debts at 0% interest for as long as possible.

Some current cash-back offers are as much as $150 for $500 spend which is like an instant 30% return. That’s pretty amazing. If you think you don’t spend that much, you can probably easily get there just buying groceries and gas, then it’s like getting a huge discount on those items. My family easily spends over $500/mo on groceries, so getting a $150 discount would be amazing.
